More than twenty students took part in the Polio Awareness Rally organized by The Rotary Club of Bandra Bandstand held on Sunday at Bandra Bandstand. The Rally was flagged off at 8:00 am outside Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow and it covered a total distance of 20 Kms.

The Bikers went through Bandra Reclamation, Lal Mitti Slums, Behrampada Slums, Bharat Nagar Slums, Golibar Slums and ended at Shastri Nagar Health Post. Twenty Bikers from the Inddiethumpers along with some of the students from Laxmi Nagar Municipal School children with posters and banners in their hands, promoting polio plus participated in the rally.

Says Pradeep Kamble, Standard seventh of Laxmi Nagar School, “It was simply great riding around on the bike. I had never sat on a Bullet. It was an unbelievable experience." Agrees Mahesh Pawar a sixth standard student of the same school, “I was lucky that I got this opportunity to take part in this rally which was organized for a very good cause.

Many times we are ignored as we are in a municipal school, but this time we were lucky that we were invited for this. Concludes Rotarian Raja Baweja, “ We wanted to promote our Club’s Polio Awareness Drive, and so we thought of having a motorcycle rally to spread the word around. We also invited students of Laxmi Nagar Municipal School, as we had thought that we would give them an opportunity to have a bike ride and enjoy the event.
